Last weekend, Outwood's Senior Wind Band enjoyed a weekend residential trip to Stainsacre Hall, near to Whitby. The activity centre was an ideal destination for the band as they took part in a variety of team building exercises as well as rehearsing for their forthcoming engagements, including a performance at St John’s Primary School gala on the Saturday 7th July and at the Music Centre concert at Silcoates School on Friday 13th July.

The weekend was led and organised by Outwood's Head of Centre, Carl White and judging by the photos, it turned out to be a memorable and fun-packed visit! Carl White said; “The weekend was a big success! The students really began to bond well as a group and got to know each other on a more social level. Sunday morning’s activities of orienteering, ‘rescue the bear’, ‘rope walk’ and ‘crate walk’ were enjoyed by all – including the staff! I would like to say a really big THANK YOU to all the students for making it such an enjoyable weekend (although a little more sleep would have been nice), and to Paul Machon, Amanda Spalding, Lizzie Hussey and Rhod Younger for all their help and support. I would also like to thank Geraldine Gaunt for all her assistance and support in the planning of this trip – it was greatly appreciated!!!"
