One of the Music Services premier ensembles the Wakefield Youth Brass Band provides brass and percussion pupils currently studying with Wakefield Music Services the opportunity to experience performing as part of a brass band.
The group rehearses on Thursday evening at Manygates Music Centre Band Room under the direction of Stephen D Wood and Jason Whiteley and regularly takes part in concerts and festivals performing at Wakefield Cathedral, Wakefield Theatre Royal and Opera House, Castleford Civic Centre, Bretton Hall and Music for Youth.
Entry to the group is usually on the recommendation of the Music Services Brass and Percussion teachers although any brass or percussion instrumentalists studying with the Music Service are welcome to apply. The entry standard for the group is Associated Board Grade 3.
