Wakefield Fiddle and Flute was formed in September 2006 by Graham Hall and Caroline Billington, with the help of Janet Ward and Kate Ghent. It soon proved to be a highly successful group and is now run by Bryony Griffith.
Fiddle and Flute gives talented young violinists and flautists of the Wakefield Metropolitan District the chance to experience the enjoyment of performing traditional folk music.
Fiddle and Flute have been invited to perform at many venues and concerts including Billie's Concert, Nostell Priory and Yorkshire Sculpture Park to name but a few. They were chosen to perform at the prestigious National Festival of Music for Youth at the Birmingham Conservatoire and recently they performed at the launch of Wakefield Live Music at the Orangery.
