Once in a lifetime all Muslims try to travel to the City of Makka to visit the holy places.
They will all dress in a simple robe called the ihram, just made from two sheets, and they will camp out for at least some of the time .  There is wonderful feasting too!

This is the Kaaba in the Holy City, where over 4000 years ago, God told the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to build in stone a place of worship,  probably on a holy sanctuary  founded by Adam.  God asked Abraham to call all mankind to visit the  place.  At one corner of the Kaaba is the black stone which was part of the original building.  The pilgrims will circle the Kaaba seven times,  and go seven times between  the mountains of Safa and Marwa, as did Ibrahim's wife, Hagar in her search for water.
